Wow, yeah, it seems like you should send a note highlighting the “not having been in country for 18 years” point out to the journalists. It’s so terrible that specific verbiage really just glosses over these pretty critical facts! I mean, who questions the source of their materials anymore? Are we forever doomed to a library of material where historians keep quoting each other and not primary source documentation!? Ugh. Disgust and disgrace.
